MIR480A: Professional Digital Audio Processor
The MIR480A is a digital audio processor that offers an extremely low noise floor, high dynamic range, and a powerful internal DSP, making it ideal for a wide variety of professional environments—from meeting rooms and small theaters to high-demand large-scale tours. Its advanced circuit design and original DSP algorithm are the foundation for its pure, high-quality sound.
In the MIR480A's signal chain, the powerful MARANI DSP and AD/DA converters operate at a native sampling rate of 96 kHz. Its comprehensive processing functions provide an all-in-one solution for advanced speaker crossovers.
The signal path includes input gain, delay, noise gate, EQ, compression, and FIR processing, through to output gain, polarity, and frequency division. It features up to 13 types of parametric EQ (PEQ) with selectable filter types. The output crossover utilizes classic Linkwitz-Riley, Bessel, and Butterworth alignments, in addition to NXF horn-type filters and FIR filters with slopes up to 120 dB per octave. The new MIR linear phase frequency divider filter makes aligning the phase at the crossover point easier while producing significantly lower latency.
A new DSP plug-in provides a high-precision FIR filter at 96 kHz, a high-order signal generator, and a real-time RTA spectrum analyzer. Furthermore, the newly designed Hard Limiter allows for constant frequency limiting for signals exceeding the threshold at any level, ensuring superior speaker protection.
Each input and output provides an FIR filter of up to 512 taps, which can be customized via third-party software to generate the necessary FIR convolution. When used for speaker presets, it significantly improves phase response and controls directivity according to the system's needs.
The new MIR linear phase filter maintains the shape of traditional IIR filters (such as Linkwitz-Riley 24dB/oct) but produces zero phase distortion, and the resulting delay is approximately 50% less than that of a standard FIR filter.
